Varnish Embellishments

The flood varnish is most often added to the labels to give them a certain finish or to protect them from scratches when transporting the product from your warehouse to the POS. There are a lot of types of flood varnishes with different finishes, such as matt varnish, gloss varnish and the like.

The spot varnish, unlike the flood varnish, is applied only to some parts of the label. It can be applied without a specific structure to give an effect to the structure of the material or to emphasize a specific design element. No matter what your effect you are after, partial varnish is one of the best methods to attract consumer attention.

Embossed varnish, or commonly known as screen varnish, is the application of a large amount of varnish and its rapid drying to achieve a high relief. It is used to give tactile feel to labels, to emphasize a certain part of the design or to simulate Braille code.

The drip-off varnish is a relatively new technology for applying varnish in which the varnish falls in drops and simulates the effect of water or dew on the label. The size and distribution of the drops can be different and give your product the feeling that it has just been brought from a fresh mountain.

Matte varnish is usually applied as a flood varnish to achieve a matte effect and a feeling of luxury on the label. Matt varnishes have different degrees of opacity and residual structure and are widespread due to the additional effect of protecting labels from scratches.

Glossy lacquer gives your labels a unique shine when illuminated from the right angle. It may have different glossiness levels and light reflection and give a different feel to the final product. Most often, glossy varnish is used as a flood or spot varnish.

Structure can be applied in different thicknesses and builds glossy forms while hardening. Different structures can be imitated: like soft touch or sandpaper effects that can change radically the feel of your label. 

Some varnish manufacturers have a series with an odor that is permanent or unlocks when mechanically rubbing the surface of the label. There are a number of varnishes with standard fruit and other scents. It is also possible to develop a special custom solution that contains a fragrance selected or provided by the customer, which is included in the product.

The varnishes with a metallic effect contain metallic elements and are very suitable for cosmetics or similar applications. The label changes its glare in different lighting conditions or when moving the label and changing its angle relative to the light source. There are several basic metallic colors that can give your labels an exceptional visual finish and uniqueness of the shelf.

Pearlescent varnishes, similar to the metallic ones, contain particles that create reflections in different lighting conditions and leave the impression of a pearl base and effect. The pearl finish is very suitable for luxurious labels designed for high-end products.

There is no user who, as a child, has not admired watches or stars glowing in the dark. Varnishes with similar effect can create an incredible experience for the customers by giving an alternative look to your labels in the dark.
