Structure of a Foil Label

Most self-adhesive film labels consist of four layers, with the top layer (also called face material) being the foil itself.

The layers include:

Carrier strip - holds labels on rolls after die-cutting
Silicone - its properties determine how easily labels separate from the carrier strip
Adhesive - its properties determine how easily labels separate from the carrier strip and how firmly they adhere to the product`s packaging. Adhesives can have various parameters - for low temperature, multiple removals, etc.
Face material film - face material characterizing final appearance and printed label effect
