Paper Labels Printing

Paper labels are widely used in all industries due to the large selection of types and characteristics of the paper from which they are made. The choice of paper makes them very suitable for information-only labels as well as for non-standard and high-quality product labels.

The paper is also the best media to reproduce the best, most accurate and vivid colors of your design. Different types of paper can add an extra element of creativity to the basic design and emphasize some of its elements.

Paper labels are suitable for products that are not exposed to external conditions and are not stored or used in demanding environments, such as low and high temperatures.

Standard paper labels

Standard paper labels offer optimal quality to cost ratio for products and applications that rely primarily on informational content of the label not so much on its impact on the product’s perception as a luxurious item. The flat surface of standard papers allows for a very wide range of applications – embellishment with additional effects or affordable one-color printing.

Luxury paper labels

Luxury paper labels are mainly used for product labeling, when the look and feel of the label itself becomes part of the look and feel of the whole product. Luxury label papers offer a really large selection of finishes and effects that are suitable for products in all price ranges, including premium and ultra-premium.

Structured paper labels

Rotoprint offers a wide range of structured and wine papers that can give your labels a unique look and tactile feel. The different structures can give a sense of depth to the design or resemble natural or manmade structures, such as wood or concrete. Structured papers are commonly used in the wine industry but are also used in other industries.

Different options for your paper labels

Effects to add value to your labels

You can use one or more effects in different combinations to make your labels unique on the market and different from the competition's labels. Well-chosen effects are the best way to put your brand in a different category, compared to the uniformly looking products on the shelfs.

Protect your labels from environmental factors and copying

Some effects and features can be used to protect labels from mechanical scratches, as well as to protect them from copying and counterfeiting. This can be done by using special effects, as well as by combining several effects that are difficult to reproduce.

Silk liquid gold

Liquid gold is one of the most impressive effects you can have on your paper labels. The authentic color of yellow gold, combined with the embossed effect make it a great tool for the designers.

Varnish effects

Adding varnish to your labels can highlight certain elements and also protect your labels from damage when delivered. There are different options for example matte, glossy, scented. Varnishes can be applied to the entire label or just some elements.

Hot foil printing

The hot foil printing is a very suitable effect for paper labels because of the good adhesion of the foil to the paper and the great variety of colors and hologram effects.

  • Large selection of varnishes
  • Metallized and holographic foils
  • Various reliefs
  • Inks with different effects
  • Protective effects
  • Special security effects

Paper labels for the food industry

Paper labels are widely used in the food industry because they require a number of product labeling applications, from creating a product vision to communicating information that is required by a regulatory or legal mechanism.

Whether your products have a long or short shelf life, are in the broad consumer segment or are narrowly targeted at premium customers, we can offer a solution for all your needs.

Paper labels for spirits

Paper labels are a key element in branding high-quality spirits such as whiskey, vodka, gin, and rum. The material allows for luxurious matte or gloss finishes, embossed details, and metallic inks. Labels can also include information about designation of origin, distillation year or organoleptic properties of the product. The use of textured papers gives a tactile addition to the label, which is an important part of a consumer`s experience when it comes to premium spirits.

Paper labels for low-alcoholic beverages

When it comes to beers, ciders, and alcoholic cocktails, paper labels offer an excellent base for vivid, eye-catching designs. They can be designed to endure humidity and refrigeration, which is essential for low-alcoholic beverages that are usually chilled before consumption. When using paper labels, different techniques can be applied such as thermosensitive inks, which change color upon cooling - a popular marketing tool in the low-alcoholic beverages industry. Additionally, they can provide enough space to fit the necessary information like alcohol content (ABV) and volume.

Paper label’s structure

In most cases, paper labels are made up of four layers, the top of which, also called the face material, is paper.

The layers are:

  • liner - this is the part that holds the labels on a roll after they are die cut

  • silicone - its characteristics determine how easily the label will be detached from the liner

  • adhesive - its characteristics determine how easily the label will be detached from the carrier tape and how firmly it will adhere to the product packaging. There may be different functions and parameters - for low temperature, for multiple detachments and others

  • paper - this is the facial material that characterizes the final look and effect of the printed label

The facial material itself also has several parameters that in combination contribute to the end result:

  • surface finish – it can be matte semi-matte, gloss, semi-gloss, gloss or with different special finishes

  • surface color - paper labels offer a huge selection of standard and non-standard colors that designers can use to realize their unique ideas. In addition to the standard white and gray, the paper can have metallic effect, pastel colors, bright and fluorescent colors

  • thickness - determines the flexibility and strength of labels, making it suitable for different applications

  • the color of the paper itself - it is possible that in addition to the surface of the paper, which is factory colored, the paper itself to have certain color. For example, black face paper may actually be white at the bottom, and when cut, the visible white color may be incorporated as part of the design.
